Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory Opera and Ballet Theatre

The theatre is built on the place of the Big Stone Theatre - the oldest theatre of St.Petersburg. At the end of the 19th century the building was reconstructed for the Conservatory. Nowadays, classical ballet and opera performances are staged here. Today the most famous are Nikita Dolgushin's stagings: "Sleeping beauty", "Gizelle", "Nutcracker". Here students of St.Petersburg's conservatory appear on the stage for the first time.
The St-Petersburg Conservatory theatre named after Rimsky-Korsakov is a classical opera and ballet theatre whose productions are invariably top-quality, continuing the Russian school theatre traditions.
